Nexus 7 and the threat of the iPad mini

With the brilliant Nexus 7 in its infancy, an iPad mini could be a disaster. Or could it? ‘The fact is there are staunch fans of Apple and Android and for some it is a religion,” says Christopher Kassulke CEO of HandyGames. “That will help the Nexus 7: the people who would never buy Apple out of loyalty. Such a third (or fourth) platform is arguably the Kindle Fire and any tablets that will be Windows-based. “The Nexus 7 is more in competition with the Kindle Fire and Google has clearly been looking to get a step ahead of the Kindle Fire before it launches in Europe,” says Oli Christie, Neon Play’s CEO.
The new competition could benefit everyone, however. “The competition that an iPad mini would provide would be great much more than the iPad or the iPhone,” adds Kassulke. “Both platforms are great.”
