Panasonic DMP-BD85 Blu-ray Player, $250
Panasonic continues to serve up some of the best performing Blu-ray Disc players for core video playback, and continues to do so at very reasonable prices. We like the new quick-play feature and the addition of Wi-FI internet connectivity, and we’re glad to see the addition of meaningful internet apps and features to the VIERA Cast lineup. The player is sensations in everyday Blu-ray viewing.

Sony BDP-N460 Blu-ray Player, $250
One of the biggest complaints against Sony’s BD players has been the lack of networking features. Sony has addressed that complaint with the BDP-N460. It brings a lot to the table, with fast and stable Blu-ray playback, very good DVD performance and loads of network goodies.

Toshiba BDX2700 Blu-ray Player, $250
The BDX2700 sports 802.11n Wi-Fi, superb video processing, and a solid user experience. If you’re looking to jump into Blu-ray on a budget and are interested in additional streaming options, the Toshiba BDX2700 deserves some serious consideraton, especially when you can find the player online for less than $200.

Sony PlayStation 3 Game Console/Blu-ray Player, $300
We consider the PlayStation 3 to be one of the best A/V products. The slimmer version takes something great and makes it better. It’s ultra-quiet, it can bitstream Dolby TrueHD and and DTS-HD Master Audio, and it doesn’t look half bad, either. Our only complaint is its lack of native IR support, but nothing’s perfect. Highly recommended.

Samsung BD-P3600 Blu-ray Player, $300
samsung’s BD-P3600 delivers some compelling features, and its standard Blu-ray playback is outstanding. With the inclusion of wireless connectivity and built-in internal memory, it lakes the guesswork out of making the most of your Blu-ray Disc library.
